Mission

The Fairhaven Foundation inspires, engages, and stewards the support of its community to enhance the quality of life for its residents.

History

The Fairhaven Foundation began in 1997 when a group of volunteers began working to increase the quality of life for Fairhaven’s residents. That first year, the Foundation raised money for a new Fairhaven sign for the front of the building, a pergola and many other things.

Fundraising really kicked off in 2002 when the Foundation began raising money to support the construction of the ‘new’ Fairhaven! More than $800,000 was raised, which went towards extra improvements to the building that would truly improve the lives of residents!

Over the years, the Fairhaven Foundation has been able to provide numerous items to Fairhaven. Below is a highlighted list of items the Foundation has been pleased to provide:

  • Electric beds
  • Lifts for resident care
  • Ultrasound machines and other Physiotherapy equipment
  • Bathing slings
  • Stainless steel identification bracelets for residents
  • A mobile service cart for the resident’s Social Pub
  • Funding to enhance activities and outings through Resident Program
  • Water features for both of the outdoor garden areas
  • Dream Garden Shelter constructed in Westview 2 Garden
  • Nordic Wellness Chair
  • Blanket Warmer

The Foundation continues to dedicate all of its resources to enhancing and supporting quality living for all people at Fairhaven. Visit our Home page to find out more about what is happening in the Foundation.
